Where the grand houses stand
Marbella is the centre of gravity. The Golden Mile and Sierra Blanca hold the classic mansions, close to Puerto Banús yet screened by walls and mature gardens. In the hills of Benahavís, La Zagaleta set the standard for privacy on this coast.
Mijas Costa spreads along the shore between Marbella and Fuengirola, with mansion-scale homes on the slopes above the Mediterranean. West of Marbella, the hills of Estepona hold newer estates.
